Hey Guys, Im new here and Im looking for anyone who would like to throw some advice my way on growing size or what im doing wrong at the moment.
Ive been training on and off since highschool, never really got to into it tbh, until recently. I really want to gain size in my arms and ive been trying to count my calories to be in a surplus and what not, but my arms dont seem to grow just my belly does. Im afraid im "skinny fat". im getting stronger no doubt but the size just isnt coming my way.
- Age -23
- Height- 5'8"
- Weight -159
- Bodyfat %- 28% is what the weight scale i use says so take that as you will lol
- Goal (Muscle Gain, Weight Loss, Strength Gain, etc) - I just want to gain muscle and look bigger.
- How long you have been exercising- on and off for years but only recently got really into it, i would say about 4 months since ive been tracking calories and such.
- Daily calories i eat currently around 2600-2800
- Daily macros in grams (protein, carbs, fat)- i try to get 160 grams of protein in everyday, the rest i kind of just base on calorie count these day.
- Injuries or restrictions- i try to avoid dips because of a pain i get in my sternum when performing them.
I tried being super strict on my diet at first counting all my macros, but i just wasnt enjoying it, and i knew if i didnt like something i would stick with it, so i made a compromise and kinda just go off calories.
a few other side notes-
-i dont have a lifting partner most of the time.
-i have a full time job where my shifts change constantly, so its hard to set a routine.
- my squat is pretty terrible, only squating 205 for 1
- i have "chicken legs"
I dont want to compete in a show or be a "bodybuilder". i just want to look good in my own skin.
any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
thanks to everyone in advance!
-Steven
