Hello so heres a picture of me weighing at 80 Kg. 6 FT. 3 weeks ago. I decided for New years rev I would get to 90 kg ( BULK ). So now im 83 kg. I'm eating around 2800-3000 calories a day. ( all foods dirty and clean ) I try to eat Jacket potato ( 3 ) and beans alot. Tuna sandwages etc. But when the calories are low I tend to get a cheeky chinese take away (Rice + Chips+ curry). Or a cheeky burger ( chicken ).

Only thing is my bellys getting fatter. But I want to lose the belly fat but put on muscle... im 17% body fat..

I go gym 3-4 days a week. 8-10 Rep 3-4 sets on 3-4 exersizes. On chest/back/legs/arms. I Do no cardio at all.

Any advice please on what to do first.. And is there a way i can gain muscle and lose the belly fat along the way? Like should i start adding cardio?

I use to be 6 ft skinny at 65 kg.. until i started the gym 2 years ago and i got to 88 kg. But then started cutting down to 80 kg now. Im age 24.

The first picture is me at 85 kg 6 months ago

Second pic is prob around 85 kg too

If your bulking you are going to gain weight, and some fat. You can add some cardio to help out, but the best way to bulk without the gut is to clean bulk. But it sounds like you are bulking like me kind of a a mix. I would say im more of a clean/some dirty bulk kind of guy. So 8 out of 10 times i eat pretty clean. Also if you are over eating on calories like over 500 calories you are going to put on the fat lot faster. Keep your calories 250-500 over TDEE and watch your waist. I think I eat pretty dang good food and lots of healthy stuff too! I watch my weight everyday and measure my waist as well to regulate it. Its nice when you go up 2lbs in a month and your waist stays the same!! Your diet will be key!!! Cardio helps out some, but you don't want to burn to many calories that you lose gains.

@Donnie786 Looks like @Zeke_BE has given you some good advice!

I would definitely suggest some cardio while bulking to help keep the gains lean, but it will mostly be about diet. Try to limit the junk and processed food as much as you can - everything in moderation.

Also, are you tracking macros? That will be important. If you're going overboard on carbs that might be why you are seeing a little too much fat gain. Use the calculator on the @mealplan page if you haven't already to see what your daily calories/macros should be and make sure you are tracking correctly, then once the diet is on point, try adding maybe 2 days of cardio to your routine.

Lastly, it can be possible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, but typically only if you are a newbie.. because you have already been training for 2 years, it won't be as easy, and your best be is to keep your surplus big enough to gain muscle, but not so big that you start piling on fat. This is where tracking macros will also be useful.

That's up to you really man.. what is your main goal right now? To get bigger or to be ripped/shredded? In your previous post you said you were at about 17% bodyfat.. maybe you could consider cutting down to more like 13-15% and then lean bulking from there?

Those calories are pretty low, especially with all the training you're doing. You'll lose weight fast, sure, but even with a high protein diet, if you lose weight too quickly, there's a greater risk of muscle loss too. You will look smaller when you cut no matter what, but if you lose muscle un-necessarilly as well, yes that can make you look even smaller.

You'll see the abs at 12%, but if you aren't a newbie then you won't see any muscle gains, especially because you're in a deficit. I suggest you stay in a small surplus of like 250 calories above maintenance but actually start eating better foods. I made an entire video about this yesterday which you should definitely watch.

PLEASE HELP ME MATE. I HATE THE WAY MY BELLY IS. IM 17 PERCENT BODY FAT I WANT TO DROP DOWN TO 12. On calculator.net it says I need 2900 for maintainse at 185 pounds 6 ft and 3-5 workout a week. You will definitely have more definition at a lower body fat percentage, no doubt about that. If you need 2900 calories for maintenance, I would even say you could do around 2600 calories for a cut, and then reduce that down to 2500 or 2400 if you notice you stop dropping bodyfat or if you plateau.

At the end of the day it's up to you, you clearly want to cut down the bodyfat, so yeah man, you may as well go into a deficit to get to your goal. Possibly don't need to do the insanity HIIT 4 times a week on top of your gym workouts though, otherwise you'll be burning even MORE calories, which will make your calorie deficit BIGGER, which will mean you start flirting more with muscle loss.

Keep it slow and small to see the best results and maintain as much of that muscle mass as possible! You got this bro!

ok thanks for your advice mate. I'm going to eat 2600 calories a day.. And do insanity 2-3 days a week. and weights 3-4 days a week.. for 3 months. Starting this week.

Does that sign good enough to lose 5-6 percent body fat?

Also i need help on this question. people say carbs are bad for cutting. But I seen a video of the Hodgetwins they said don't cut out carbs because its energy for muscle. That you lose muscle if you cut out carbs.

Also i eat white bread do i need to cut this food out for losing weight? or will it be ok 2 slices a day?

It will get you on the right track for losing that body fat for sure. Just monitor your progress every week and see if you need to make any changes to keep progressing 💪

You should definitely be cutting carbs when trying to lose body fat. Carbs tend to be the macro that will make or break your efforts to get lean. Too many carbs and you might not get as lean as you could. The main thing to keep track of to make sure you maintain as much muscle as possible is your protein - make sure you're getting at least 1.2g-1.5g protein per pound of lean bodyweight.

I would ditch the white bread if you can for a different carb source all together, or at least 100% whole grain bread.

I'm not sure I would say 22%.. but possibly close to it. You have a lean upper body but a bit stored around your mid-section which is normal. Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about what the scan says.. the most important thing is, what do you think of your current condition? Are you happy? Do you want to keep adding more muscle mass, or cut back?

Like we've already talked about, you're not a newbie any more, so it's probably more beneficial for you to cut back to around 12-15% body fat and then go back into a lean mass phase. If you continue with a bulk at this stage, chances are that you will continue to gain some fat, even if it is a lean bulk.

But don't cut at 1700 calories.. I read your posts on that other forum. 1700 calories is if you did nothing all day. You will still be working out while cutting right? So you will still be burning around 2800 calories daily.. so you would want to be eating about 2500 calories in a deficit. Just keep the protein high and training intense to maintain as much muscle as possible.

Getting 3000 calories might be enough for a bulk.. if you used the calculator on the @mealplan page that would be a good starting point at least! Then you can see whether or not you gain weight consistently with that many calories. If you do, great! I means you are eating enough. If you don't gain weight, it means you need to eat more!
