Been training and eating very healthy for 4 weeks now.. arfter a long break (12 years 😮 .. Now I'm 38yrs old, 5'11") Cardio, lifing, HIIT, I've been following many of your activities to mix it up and keep it fun THANK YOU SCOTT! I'm noticeably thinner and because of confidence etc I really want to focus on FAT LOSS NOW. I was 196lbs 4 weeks ago now 184lbs. After calculating my macros I'm at a deficit of like 800 calories each day! The diet part is very easy for me. But I want to make sure I'm going about this as efficiently as possible. Goal: Want to be absolutely ripped by June 2018. Just want to be moderately built not huge. I plan to stay in this path and fully committed.
I'm working out and doing cardio 6 days / week and the only supplements I'm taking are HMB (heard it was better than BCAAs on a cut) and Fish Oil.
Is it dumb to think I should really tighten up first, then start bulking?

@HappyThoughts great job with the weight loss so far man! Sounds like you are well on track, just make sure you aren't losing too much muscle by being in an 800 calorie deficit.. ususally all you need is a 250-500 calorie deficit for consistent fat loss, with minimal muscle loss. But if you think you are maintaining most of your mass and strength on that deficit stick with it.
Definitely not dumb to cut first before a bulk. I would suggest getting down to around 12-15% body fat before you go into a lean bulk phase. You should be able to achieve that by January/February easily assuming you're not at a super high bf % now. I'm guessing you're not, given your weight and height, and you can probably hit that by the end of this year.
If you want to be absolutely ripped, like 10% or less bodyfat, by June, that would give you proabably 3-4 months in the new year for a lean bulk before you shred down. So I think you are on track! ðŸ˜ðŸ’ª
