Hi, i have had an injury while working out,i hurt the area of my right upper back due to losing a bit balance while doing the sumo squat.

Its been 3 months and its yet to heal,i tried decreasing back workouts or taking a 1 week break but its not healing. It hurts me just a little from time to time but more frequently after the workout,i also do a stretching exercice for it.

Any idea or right recovery way?

Thanks in advance Scott,or anyone who knows!

Hey @RC4. If it is your right upper back, do you think it could be partially a shoulder injury too? Are you using my shoulder warm-ups in the video below before you workout? And what stretches are you currently doing for your back? Let us know! 😊

this is where it's hurting somewhere in that area, I'm sure it's not my shoulder. And my warmup are good. As for the stretching I catch a left stick with my right hand and a right stick with my left hand and stretch as much as possible and feel the damaged muscle.

I more need your help to suggest how I can recover it.

One good stretch for the lats and back is to go near a wall, maybe about 2 feet away from it and face the wall. Bend over so your upper body is parallel to the ground, and stretch your arms out beside your head so they are touching the wall, and you should feel a nice deep stretch all through your back. Hold that for 30-60 seconds and do that 2-3 times.

You should also try foam rolling. You can roll it while lying onr your back, but you should also try rolling it out while lying on your side as well.

Hope that helps. Also, if it's been 3 months and no progress, maybe you should consider seeing a massage therapist too?
