I never did really anything remotely fitness related until I was a Sophomore in college. I started going to the gym with a friend who had a reasonable amount of experience with lifting. We started going consistently and I have been lifting ever since. My major "going over the edge" point was after completing the P90x program over the summer of my Junior to Senior year. It was then I started grasping the overall athletic concept to fitness, not just lifting for the muscle. I am now in the gym6 days a week, consistently running, and I started participating in martial arts. It has become a lifestyle I absolutely love and cannot imagine giving up.
