About Me

I began training seriously as a teenager around the age of 16, mainly to improve athletic performance on the field. I soon came to really enjoy weight training in and of itself and after my high school years, continued throughout college. Admittedly, though I trained hard during the younger years of my life (I am now 33 years old), my training was not as effective as it could have been and my nutrition was severely lacking. For example, I did not start squatting or dead lifting until I was 23 years old. I was one of those people in the gym who could bench more than he squats! As far as nutrition went, it was something I paid almost no attention to. I knew I needed a lot of protein, so I ate lots of eggs, meat, etc., but never tracked anything. I frequently ate fast food and other junk food. To say the least, I was far from lean. In my mid-20’s I stopped lifting weights and training altogether for a little more than a year. Then at about the age of 26, I decided to start training again and made the decision that if I was going to take the time to train, I was going to do it right and really pay attention to my nutrition and not waste my time or effort. I started tracking calories/macros, training my entire body, and trying to learn as much as I could about nutrition and proper training. As a result, I got into the best shape of my life, just kept getting stronger over time, and kept improving my physique over time. Then, in July of 2013, I decided to start my own website, sharing the knowledge I had gained over the years and started taking on coaching clients. I felt like I had learned so much and I wanted to start helping other people achieve their own fitness goals. Not long after launching my website, I started a Youtube channel and began posting videos with training, nutrition and fitness lifestyle advice.
