I am pleased to report that all of my nomination papers have been handed in and have passed the initial checks. The next stage is for the returning officer to give them the once over and if she confirms that everything is in order then I will recieve a letter congratulating me on becoming a bonefide canddiate. When that happens, I will start my election campaign with the first of nine walks around my village and the villages that make up the rest of the ward, therefore it makes sense to make it into an offical programme for Scott to give his expert opinion on.
I will be using the "Map My Walk" app on my phone to track my walks which also displays the distance and the length of time. Generally speaking I can walk a mile in around 15 - 18 minutes, but should remind members that if an elector asks me a policy related question if they catch me delivering my leaflets then my speed will collapse to 0mph as I do have to answer their questions.
In theory I am hoping (between April 5th and May 3rd) to walk a total of 30 miles but it is always possible that I may find an isolated house or farm, so that figure should be treated as a minimum more than a maximum. At this present moment in time I stand 6ft tall and weigh 210lbs.
