Hey Scott! First off, Thank you for all of the follow-along workouts you've been putting up on youtube. The Pull workout with bed sheets is GENIUS and one of my favorite home routines right now.

Second, I found your interview with bodybuilding.com about the meta-burn workout you did last year. That was some awesome information and hearing your origin story was great. I died laughing when you said you would try to hold cinderblocks as long as you could as a kid. That's so on point for your character. I loved the info about why follow-along workout videos are popular and why you enjoy doing them because you're absolutely right in the fact that when you see the trainer fighting to finish an exercise, it makes it easier to push through to finish because you're doing it. I definitely felt that with the pull-up hold exercises because WOW those were tough, but I love them!

Then you talked a little bit about your wife, Erica, and how she pushes you and reminds you to be your best. How do you two hold each other accountable to consistently be awesome? Do either of you ever have low-bandwidth/energy days, and what do you do to lift each other up out of them?

Hey Heather! Glad you're enjoying the follow-along workouts and like the interview! That was a fun interview to do!

We absolutely have our good and bad days, just like everyone. It would be nice if every day was full energy but that's just not how life works. I think just the fact that we know how hard each other works is part of what keeps us going. Seeing your other half being successful just makes you want to work harder yourself, kind of like how you see me in the follow-along videos and it makes you want to push through.

But we also acknowledge that some days you do just need some down time! We just make sure that it's only 1 or 2 days before we give each other a reminder that slacking isn't what got us to where we are today!

Hey Scott,

You answered this question back in May; I didn't respond back right away because I wanted to put some serious work and effort into your advice with my husband before coming back to it. You do so much for your subscribers and I value the time you take to respond. It means a lot.

I asked that question at a time when there was a lot of uncertainty in my life with the quarantine and COVID situation. That had presented some novel challenges to for my husband and I as obvious opportunities were abruptly cut off.

But your answer was a significant driver in a lot of my decision-making with my husband over the last 6 months and we've put in a lot of "reps", so to speak, in being better for each other and not making excuses for each other or ourselves. Despite still being in quarantine until further notice, we've been able to use the time productively developing skills and training for a thru-backpacking trip next year. I've even been able to help more people now than I was pre-quarantine.

I know this isn't the kind of question you normally get, but at the time, it was something I was fretting over, and I could not think of better people to ask. Thank you both for being a prime example of what couples can do when they support each other 100%.

Edit: I also found 3 answers to training questions I had in posts you previously answered, so thanks for that, too! Your forum is seriously an under-utilized gold mind of info.
