Hey Scott

First I want to say thank you for you responding so fast.

In regards to your 5-day split I have some questions. What is the reason that the rest times are so short? You mention that it is to increase the intensity but as far as I know intensity, in regards to training, is the amount of weight you are lifting, like the more weight the more intensity.

And as far as I have read in the litterature, short rest times are not ideal as the muscles do not have proper time to recover which will mean that you can not lift the same weight and therefore volume is decreased.

Is there any scientific reason to have such short rest times between sets?

Thank you.

@TheBigGuy1337 Intensity isn't just about lifting as much weight as you can. Short rest periods, so that your muscles don't have as much time to recover and are easier to breakdown, is still going to make your workouts SUPER intense!

Remember, when it comes to hypertrophy, it's not always about how much you can lift. A stronger muscle CAN be a bigger muscle, but it's not always the case. Short rest periods mean less weight is lifted, sure, but it doesn't mean you can't do as much volume. You can probably do MORE volume when doing burn sets and short rest periods, because you spend more time moving weight rather than resting between sets.
