paused ohp 5x5 @ 145lb & landmine press 5x5 @ 220lb Sunday

paused ohp 5x1 @ 175lb & incline press 6x4 @ 245lb Friday

do you think this is enough volume for a beginner to an intermediate? i am planning to reach those numbers and was wondering if i could make gains from this twice a week. thanks

(i used to do 3x a week same volume while i split the volume into 3x frequency; now i want to do a 2x frequency)

@faijaii So you're doing 11 sets total for your chest in a week? That might be enough to start with as a beginner, but I'd expect you'd need to increase that total volume over time, maybe closer to 20 sets weekly.

Why are you reducing the frequency?

i do martial arts so i cant do 3x a week it affects my schedule. do you think 11 sets with progressive overload will stimulate enough growth from a beginner to an intermediate? would i make noticeable gains in my chest if i do it this way?

@faijaii Yes as a beginner, that's probably enough with progressive overload (definitely need progressive overload). Like I said in my original post, you might need more sets as you become more advanced / if you hit plateaus.
