Hello! I had a small doubt. If i have an arms day and train 3set bi then 3tri and so on, does it mean that i lose my hypertrophy in biceps while training 3 sets of triceps, before going to biceps again? I mean there is atleast 6 mins of gap between switching from bi to tri and tri to bi. Does it affect muscle growth?

Hey !

It does not effect hypertrophy, it effects your pump. As long as time under tension is equal it does not really matter which of the two you do when - the total amount of sets and reps and time is what matters. But getting a good pump does help getting more fresh blood into the muscle which may help a little, but won't be so significant that you can not grow muscle even with that time in between.

@Kanwarsgill William is right man, it won't be a game changer in terms of your muscle gains. You probably won't even notice that you lose much of a pump at all because you'll be pumping up your triceps when your biceps are resting and vice-versa when your triceps are resting.

Remember that you can superset biceps exercises with triceps exercises too, in which case you won't ever lose the pump for either muscle!

Both biceps and triceps muscle have type 2 muscle fibres in majority. So heavy weights will increase growth in bicep and tricep. Those big muscles on your upper arm are the biceps and triceps. Thebiceps are the one on top, and the triceps are the one on the bottom (and actually takes up most of the upper arm).
