Hi all.  Have just joined and hoping to do something different in 2020.  I have been training for about twenty years, am not in bad shape but want more.  I have never done a bulking and then cutting routine, but would like to try.  I train at home but have a decent set of equipment.  Just looking for some direction.

@DrAPW Hey Alan! We can definitely give you some direction here!

What kind of equipment do you have at home? If you have basics like a bench, squat rack, barbell and dumbbells, then you can probably do either Full Body Evolution OR Guaranteed Gains to get stahhhted!

Do you know what your current body fat % is and whether you're going to cut or bulk first?

Hi there,

Thanks for that.  Regarding body fat, not very sure, but I reckon about twenty percent probably.  All around my waist it seems.  I was thinking I would go for increased strength, initially, for a month or two, then try and lean up for the summer.  I haven't done this before, so it will be an adventure!!

I have a strength cage with a 200 LB weight stack.  I have olympic bar and about 120 kg in free weights, and dumbbells to 35 kg. I have chin bar and dips.  So a reasonable bit of kit.

@DrAPW Awesome! You definitely have enough equipment to hit Full Body Evolution then, which will probably be your best option if strength gain is your primary goal right now.

Just try to eat at maintenance or maybe a 100 or 150 calorie surplus, because you don't want that body fat percentage to go too much higher than 20%, otherwise it will just mean more work for you once you want to start cutting haha
