Any one have any opinions on how I should work Strongman training in to my routine?

What I do right now is a basic 5x5 that focuses around 3 exersises every other day. A squat, push, and pull. (ie. Front Squat, Military Press, Deadlift) with 2-3 assesory items tacked on at the end. Basicaly whatever I feel like working on a little more. (ie. Dumbbell chest press, biceps curl, wide grip pullup, ab work) I'm thinking about adding strongman event training on the days I'm not doing the 5x5. I would train 2-4 events depending on how long each one takes to set up and complete.

But I was just curious of any other opinions out there on a way I could tweak it to work better for me, considering thata I really only weekdays to train.

Depends a lot on what equipment you have, I also do 5x5 when going for strength a lot with the odd 1-3 to push PRs but while on my PT course at college we had lots of kit! I tried all sorts of stuff and things like the farmers walk can add strength and endurance to your routine that's deffo my favourite. I think if you have the equipment give it a shot it will work in a similair way except you can't really do reps like normal so just work on a time basis if a normal 5 rep set usually takes you arround 15-25 seconds that's all you need to do when farmers walking. Just deadlift up sprint to a line turn deadlift up again and bring back you'll get similair results + you'll get more core in there! I'd love to try atlas stones personally they look like a lot of fun, anyway good luck! HTH :)

So just an update. I got moved to a new unit and this area has a HIIT gym and its loaded! They have farmers carry logs, sandbags, sleds, tires, log bars, axle bars, monkey bars, landmines, sledge hammers and I only barely had a chance to look at it. I'm sure I missed something. I'm definitley looking forward to doing some strongman events and some complex crossfit/tabata style workouts.
