While watching your videos on the differences on strength training v. muscle building I got a bit confused.
Can I say that muscle building requires doing a lot of muscle damage per set whereas strength trainging would focus on getting the number of repititions completed in every set (generally lower number of reps)?
To simplify this question, I will give you 2 scenarios and you can tell me which one is strength training and which one is for muscle gain? Also rectify me if I got anything wrong
A) I start off with 12.5 kg. Do 7 reps. Give 30 seconds rest and then start off with 10 kg. Do 7 reps. give 30 seconds rest again and end with 7 reps of 7.5 kg. Basically by the end of it I get completely exhausted.
B) I start of with 10 kg; do 6 reps (even if I can perhaps do 10 reps; maybe even more; because I want save it for the other sets)
the resting time may go upto 1-2 minutes. I repeat with 10 kg and the same number of reps. And likewise pull out another 2 sets of this.
Just thought I'd ask this because it's better than spending empty hours in the gym if muscle gain is the aim. right?
