Hey guys,

So I am having a problem. For the past two months about I have been to the gym a dedicated 6 days per week. One of the days I work out my back and another my legs. My problem is that I can't build my deadlift strength or stiff-leg deadlift strength at all. I am only lifting a total of twenty pounds on the deadlift and stiff-leg deadlift. I feel I am using proper form but my lower back gets so sore that I can't bend over to pick something off the floor and the feeling lasts well over a week. Recently it's been so sore that I have not been able to even do the deadlifts/stiff-leg deadlifts at all. I just wanted to ask you guys if you feel I am doing something wrong or if my back is just really week at this point. Should I maybe work out my back to build lower back strength some other way before doing the deadlifts? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for looking guys

Hey Chris,

So sorry to hear about your pain :/ It's hard to say without seeing a video. Think you can upload a video as "unlisted" and then post the link here for me to see? This will help me to diagnos the problem very quickly. I just made a video to show how to put videos in posts. Check it out below :) #HTH Happy Holidays!

Hey Scott! So since I've posted this I have re watched all of your instruction videos on the deadlift fundamental series and realized I was doing things wrong from not pushing through my heels and not keeping my shoulder blades contracted throughout the entire movement. So I am starting over from square one on the stabilization section of the deadlift. So tomorrow I will start with the 30- 60 seconds stabilization routine and I will let you know How I progress from there (:
