Hi all,
Recently I've started to try do some calisthenics but when doing hanging leg raises or L-sit on parallettes, I'm unable to lift my legs to a height that is parallel to the floor. There is a muscle in my leg (I think it may be my hip flexor muscle) that gets really tight and I'm unable to go any further.

I'm wondering if there is any good stretches or anything I can do to loosen them up.

Many thanks in advance for the replies,
-Andy

Is it the inside of your thigh like the groin area or the outside of your thigh?

2 year #SHF athlete I love to train hard and help others when they want it.

It's none of them. It's the area between the edges of my hip bone and the top on my quads. Hope that is a good description.

Ah yes, I belive I know exactly what you mean ! First of all it might be that your muscles simply aren't used to these types of movements. Therefore you should try exercises such as knee lift at first to get your legs used to that movement and then jump on the more advanced version, which is leg raises. You might want to see a proffesional about your problem aswell, just to check it and make sure it isn't anything bad.
