Hey,
So recently I learned how off the calories on nutrition labels tend to be in comparison to their listed macros. Since then I’ve been using the macros to calculate expected calories and I was wondering if you have any advice on counting sugar alcohols. For instance, when I’m on the go between classes I sometimes have a protein bar with the macros
Calories listed:210
protein: 19g
fat: 7g
carbs:26g
-dietary fiber:12g
-sugar:2g
-sugar alcohol (maltitol/Sucralose): 9g
Im trying to make sure I stay in the 250-500cal surplus on my lean bulk and I see a lot of different foods with sugar alcohols that I’m never quite sure what to do with. Since a difference of 40cal per serving from the label or more depending on the product can add up fast and either eat into the surplus if I’m overestimating or go way over if I underestimate.
Thanks!
