Hi guys

I was wondering what are the best exercises for golf, and especially explosive power from the feet and up.

Thank you in advance.

Hey @ragga97,

The golf swing comes from the core so a stronger core will definitely help.

What is your current core workout like now?

Seeing as the core is important, you'll want to do compound movements - bench press, squats, deadlifts will all be helpful in this area.

You may want to look at doing shoulder exercises too, I think they could be helpful for achieving a more powerful swing.

Hi ragga97,

Join in pilates class. And join TRX class, where they work also with TRX Rip (stick). If you don't have any nearby, buy TRX (and rip) and ask for help.

In both cases check instructors, their knowledge and how they work. Generaly pilates have quite high standards, pay more attention to TRX "experts".

Having strong wrist flexors can make your swing much more powerful on contact. Try some wrist curls, or other vsriations.

Also so like stated before core is a big part of your swing primarily the obliques for rotation. Deadlifts can help with this however you do not need to do barbell heavy deadlifts jist some Dumbbells with the same movement can help.

Shoulders will ill also help build a strongwe swing, I wouldn't recommend too much pressing motion, maybe one sort of over head press, but a lot of front and lateral raises.

If if you would like I could work with you on making a workout routine For thiese muscle groups!

Also so don't neglect other big. Muscle groups like legs and chest just small amounts of work can help balance your body and maintain a good center of balance
