Do 5 minute workouts really work?

Not full body workouts, 5 minute circuits for each muscle group.

Whenever I don't have time to do a specific muscle at the gym, later that day I'll hop onto Youtube and follow an Anabolic Aliens 5 minute dumbell circuit. It's just a short workout isolating a muscle group. Are workouts this short worth my time? I actually sometimes get more sore the next day from these videos than my actual gym workout, but I'm not sure if this is a good way to gauge the quality of my muscle growth.

Thank you!

Short and intense workouts actually have as much if not more benefit than longer workouts. In general, training more than an hour - especially when natural - actually produces less gains than training intensely for one hour. The short, quick workouts Anabolic Aliens post are great as an adjunct to a regular training regiment especially if pressed for time or if you want to mix things up a bit.
