Was not sure were to post this...fyi

I was wondering about the following:

I went on a 16 day road trip. Normally I eat 6 meals a day at about 240 grams of protein. For the 16 days I made sure to get that as often as possible, but there were many days that I was camping and just didn't get half that. Ate snack food and whatever was available. Very low calories compared to normal...

So the question is...if I had 10 or so days of very low protein intake, how much would that effect my muscle mass? Would I lose? Would it even make that big of a difference?

My body does not seem to have changed except that my arms appear smaller. I think that is just from the low carbs during the trip and looking "deflated." I feel just as strong. My abs seem a little less defined, but crap food will do that.

Anyway, thoughts??

Thanks

Mark,

Absolutely not.....don't worry :-) You would have to be devoid of all protein and food for at least 80 hours to have your body start digesting muscle tissue for protein. You are "flat" because you didn't eat a lot of carbs, you may be slightly dehydrated, and ate less nutritious snack foods. You also weren't working out so your body's protein demands will be somewhat diminished.
