Hey Everyone,

I have just started the next phase of my cut which is slightly more aggressive in terms of calorie reduction and cardio and I had a a bit of spare cash so I bought some CLA - conjugated Linoleic Acid.

Now I don't ussually buy supps without solid research to back it up, however I did look in to this and the verdict on this swings in both directions as the evidence for it is very weak as is the evidence against it.

And although the magnitude of effect is minor its still in the A class of level of evidence which suggests that the evidence is legit.

so I thought I would give it a go.

Has anyone else used this with a solid training plan, on point nutrition and seen results?

I would love to hear your experiances

Thanks for reading

Nils,

CLA, as an Omega-6 fatty acid, is essential and aids fat loss. However, I believe in getting it from foods - meat, eggs, butter, dairy - versus using supplements. The body is better set up to extract essential nutrients from food in their natural state versus pills. Just my opinion.........

Hey Jim,

Yeah I see what your saying about getting it from foods! but what if i'm not getting enough! :-(

I'm finding it difficult to track the types of fats I am getting.

Nils,

Trust me - if you are eating enough meat and dairy, you are getting plenty of CLA. You need to be careful with Omega 6 fatty acids as they are pro-inflammatory. The proper ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fatty acids for health should be 1:1 or no more than 1:4. Today's typical diets are 1:25 or even 1:40. This is way too much Omega 6 and creates the perfect environment for diseases based on inflammation like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and dementia.
