alright guys,i think im gonna buy this one http://www.prozis.com/gr/el/optimum-nutrition/100-whey-gold-standard-10-lbs-4535g

and i was wondering if it's good (protein and fat grams looks good to me)but i was wondering if i can find something better or as good as this one with less money

my goal is to gain muscle and maybe weight

George,

My opinion is biased as I use Optimum Nutrition supplements exclusively. They are one of the top 3 supplement makers around and have quality stuff. BSN, which is what Scott uses, is also another reputable supplement provider with quality stuff. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. Most cheaper supplements are either made overseas, have poor manufacturing facilities, or don't have consistent quality control. Optimum Nutrition is made in the USA and they follow USP (U.S. Pharmacopeia) standards for manufacturing and quality control. USP is what the FDA uses for drug manufacturers. Supplement makers don't need to follow these stringent guidelines but the good ones do.

Well that depends on what you are looking for. That is a WHEY protein, so of course it will be cheaper.

@BSN SYNTHA-6 ISOLATE contains both whey and casein protein (fast and slow releasing) so it will cost a bit more. But I stad by it 100%!

i use hemp protein and general whey protein, any kind of whey really, jsut whatever is on sale, with hemp its hard to go wrong with a reputable source, bodybuildingwarehouse.com has it pretty cheap, hemp protein tastes... AWFUL but i tend to throw my creatine in their, some MSM and mix it only with water, half of what it says on the tub, otherwise... you're going to be sick if you dont like the taste, its strong... really strong, like, sickly, but the amino base is great, i recommend it for mornings or post workout, been working for me and its lower in calories than any other type of protein, its worth it if you can get over the awful taste... could always try mixing it in a berry smoothie but if it goes wrong thats a terrible waste of berries, it is worth a try though, 500g for only £10, i buy 1kg bags, its only 1 scoop (30g) per serving so it lasts long enough the kg only costs £15, oh and i add fibre into it aswell... i just try to add as many different flavours and powders possible to mask the taste... but take a look at it :') i litterally only use 1-200ml of water...

Before you use any protein powder, make sure you get tested so you know if your lactose intolerance. If you are, lactose intolerance like me, go with either the whey isolate or hydro whey. Personally, my intorleance is so damn bad that I would need to go with the hydro, but seeing that how hydro whey is so exepensive, i have just decideded to get my protein from ONLY whole foods like meat and beans. Its a bit more of a pain, but my body is loving it. I feel like its using the protein more effiecntly. I even feel like I built more muscle without it, but these are just my experiences. Remember, you should never be having protein farts, or a bubbling sensation in your stomach after taking a protein shake. That is a clear warning sign your body is trying to tell you.

dude i love my protein farts and so does everybody else...

but if you dont already know you're lactose intolerant grab a glass of milk chug it down and go sit on the toilet and record how long it is before you see your heart in the toilet.

many companies sell samples for £1, buy one, i tend to buy 1 of each flavour see which tastes nice then buy the tub, for the simple fact i once brought a strawberry one big old 5kg tub... that stuff was horrible andi had to stick with it for a whole month before i got through it... worst gains of my life, i find you cant go wrong with chocolate or vanilla, most recently ive had cookie dough, gets sickly after a 500ml serving though.

anyway i cant comment on that protein imparticular because i cant read it... i dont know the site, for all you know it could be a fake, most likely not but you now what im getting at, i like to buy brands from companies who make it themselves, MTS nutrition makes their own and they have certificates to state its not spiked and that the protein in it is all protein, their flavours tastes great, mixes well with everything, can cook with it without anything turning dry, can chug a big 4 scoop shake with 500ml of water without clumps and it will give 100g of protein and the scoops arent actually that big... they're worth a look at least, i prefer them to BSN for the fact i cant afford bsn... poor me, im a cheap kind of guy i suppose...
