Hi, My name is Ruben. I'm a 17 year old Senior in High School. I weigh 150lbs and am 5'8. I don't know my body fat exactly but I estimate I am around 15-16%. My goal is to get really lean like around 9-10% body fat and gain muscle. I have been exercising on and off for about 2 years. I have a Personal Fitness class in school for about an hour and a half. I also am in the footballteam but the season just ended this weekend unfortunately. We would have practice every day afterschool from 2:45-6:00. Mondays we have 25 min. of conditioning, Tuesday 20, Wednesday 15, Thursday 10, and friday 20. The rest we usually break up into special teams and run various drills. I have absolutely no injury restrictions that would keep me from doing any physical activity. I don't really know my daily calories or macros at all. Since I live with my parent I don't have all that much say in what food is bought so my diet is not particularly the best. For this reason I would like to know which supplements to buy. I dont have tons of money to spend but i have been trying to save up so i can go and try some. I have been looking for a good fat burning supplement, maybe a multi vitamin, and some protein. Whatever you think would work best in my case. I have been looking on bodybuilding.com to see but i dont fully know what to get. I have been thinking of ordering some of the trial kits but I thought of getting a professionals opinion first and I thought of you. I hope you are doing well Scott and hope to hear from you soon, i'll be staying tuned to all your videos! Thanks for your help

Hey Scott, how are you doing? I just wanted to send you a message. I'm a little saddend that i didn't get any replys from anybody on the forum you told me to make for which supplements to buy. But I did end up going on BB.com and bought some things. I bought MET-Rx Fish oil with Vitamin D (I had read that it could help with fat lossand overall body health), MET-Rx Mega CLA Energy which is supposed to be a fat burner, and a one day sample of Nordic Naturals Omega-3. Then I went and placed another order, I know you're a BSN athlete and BSN is a tremendous product so I wanted to give it a shot and get serious. I got BSN Syntha-6 2.91 Lbs. and took advantage of a promotion they had and got a BSN MASS STACK 2.0 Trial Kit, I do see why people say it is a bit pricey haha, but I'm thinking itll be worth it and I really wanna try BSN. I did use all my money on this but am hoping maybe my father will notice my results and who knows maybe I can get to sample a few of their products. Lastly I wanted your opinion on how to take these supplements, can I take the BSN while using the MET-Rx, and when should I use the Mass Stack since it is only a 10 day sample? Look forward to hearing back from you and hope all is good :)

--Hey Ruben, I got your above message so sorry it took me a few days to get here.

If your goal is to lose weight we need to make sure you are eating enough food to do so and doing the right type of training routines.  I Don't think you need any fat burners right now.  the first thing / most important thing you should be worries about is your meal plan.  We need to get your macros under control.

The easiest way to lose weight is to go on a high protein, low carb diet.  You should also be circuit training and performing cardio at least 3 - 4 times a week.  I have a wide variety of home training routines.  In fact I just got done adding my 4 DVD 30 day series routines to the routine section of the site.  The "BeFit In 30 EXTREME LVL 3" would be perfect for you!

Let's work on your macros.  Can you please do me a favor and go the the MEAL PLAN page of the site and tell me what your BMR is?

Also, I need you to list for me your current weekly routine!

Once you provide me this information I can then help you formulate a plan to utilize the supplements you purchased.

I promise it will be priority #1 tomorrow! :)

My BMR at rest is 1762.74 and 2423.77 in Motion. I just downloaded the BEFIT IN 30 EXTREME!- Lvl 3 calender now. I currently don't really have a set routine. The exercise I do is whatever activities are done in school. So monday 85 min. wed. 35 min. and thursday 85 min. the short days we usually just do cardio activities. Long days we spend about 20-30 min. in the gym and then the rest doing another activity or studying. So I can start doing the routine as per the calender at home. And I need to work on my diet because mine definetely isn't that good and I don't really have much of an idea on how to change it and what to eat.

Well the BeFit in 30 EXTREME is definitely a gret place to start.  That workout will help you kick it into high gear!

For your meal plan.  Let's take the average of your daily calories.

This is what your DAILY meal plan should be.

Calories: 2092

Weight: 150lbs

Protein: 210grams (840 calories)

Carbs: 110grams (442)

Fat: 90grams (810 calories)

Once you fill in your macros with as much food as you can, then it will be time to turn to the supplements to fill in th gaps.

Also, you should be able to stack all your supplements no problem :)

What do yout think?

Thanks Scott and a big thanks to you too Gagysha for writing in :) . So Scott with the meal plan you've layed out for me, what should I do. Is this something I should consult a dietician about and they tell me what to eat and when and whatnot. Or do I look for meals to meet that criteria? Also for the mass stack what do you think I should do with it? Should I use that and then when I finish begin to use the rest of the supplements I bought or use my supplements and then use that afterwards.

Of course! and yes you need to find meals that fit that critria as much as possible.  Then, you fill in the gaps with your supplements including the Mass Stack.

You don't need to consult a nutritionist or anything. This is pretty easy stuff.

But if you need help with your macros you should check out my custom meal planner.  It can really help you keep track of your macros as it will count everything for you and you can enter custom foods as well!

I you want to try it for one month free use the promo code: FREEFITNESS :)
