I've heard that if you shower right after you workout, its bad for your heart. Is that true, or is it a myth. It doesn't really make sense to me because swimming is a workout, and youre always in the water.

Wow......I've never heard that one before.  That must have been started by the same people who claim when you stop lifting all that muscle turns to fat :-)    Absolutely not true.  What is true is you'll be one stinky bacteria laden person if you don't shower after you lift :-)

mmmm yeah i agree. The reason people say its bad for you heart because they say your heart is still pumping really fast and cold water is bad for it. But I always cooldown at the end of my workouts so it's never a problem. I was just curious.

It's a real trend today to say that something is bad for you. Almost everything has something 'bad' on it according to the 'experts'. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it if I were you.

This must be a myth.  The only way it can be bad for your heart is if you hop into a freezing cold shower which shocks the body.  In this case, I would have to then say it's bad for your heart whether you just finished a workout or just woke up from a nap.

Complete myth, in fact, studies have shown that a cool shower post-workout can help reduce DOMS the next day. I usually take a warm/hot shower after to help relax my muscles...it's all personal preference. I NEVER heard of someone dying in the shower right after a workout, not that it doesn't happen, but you think it'd happen more often if this were true.

AHHAHAHAHa... First time to heard that! I usually take a hot shower for 5 minutes after intense workout...and still nothing happens to me at all.
