First of all thank you for reading this..

So when I'm training triceps I have some problems to feel the muscle working but I have found a few exercises that helps me with the mind muscle connection HOWEVER I may have tried every single long head exercise and I still can't feel the muscle working. It just feels weird and I'm pretty sure Its not the form because I have applied to every single form tutorial out there for the exercises. I have tried every overhead exercise and still no pump whatsoever...

Thanks

Lionel,

Have you tried reaching around with your other arm and touching your tricep? You should be able to feel the long head :-P Just kidding.

The best overall tricep exercise is dips - especially using dip bars. This is the king of tricep exercises that hits all 3 heads simultaneously. The long head is also engaged more with close grip bench pressing. While you may not "feel" the muscle working doesn't necessarily mean it is not engaged. Since the tricep has 3 heads, it is hard to actually pinpoint individual head flexing as the muscle really works as a whole.

The "pump" does not need to be achieved in order for muscle growth and adaptation to occur. The pump also happens more with high volume training with short rest periods as you are forcing blood into the muscle so quickly and not giving the muscle a chance to rest and blood to flow out. If you are training with traditional sets and rest periods (3-4 sets of 8-10 reps with 2 minutes rest), you will not feel the pump like if you are doing 6-8 sets of 8-15 reps with 30 seconds rest or supersetting tricep pushdowns with dips doing 4-5 supersets with 10-12 reps per exercise and 30-45 second rest times :-)
