Hey guys I'm new here. I just started Scott's five day split last week, great workout and i've never gone beyond three days a week with rests in between and already feel like i'm getting results and love the shorter times in the gym.

I've been managing my carbs protein and fat well but I really wanna work some cardio in as much as possible without it being negatively impactful on my muscle. Any ideas? I noticed Scott puts notes about doing the runs for the spartan race in there and plan to do those next week (Raining all week right now and i'm not a treadmill guy) but i want to see if there might be any place I can squeeze some more in there.

@whipplewopple you can definitely add some more cardio in with the 5 day split. I suggest taking the two off days from the program and using those for maybe circuit training. Then you can do maybe another 2 days of cardio AFTER your workouts during the 5 days.

Just make sure you're still eating enough to compensate for your cardio (stay in a 250-500 calorie deficit even on the days you do cardio, which may mean eating a bit more food on those days) to minimze muscle loss. Keep protein nice and high too of course!
