Hello, @Scott_Herman

I am addicted to videogames since kid, it has been 22 years of gaming already... a long run. I am currently 30 years old and i am full with thoughts and fears, social anxciety and depression sometimes. All this led me to fail exams in school or being unable to find work and the worst, my body is in a horrible skinny shape. I can literally eat one meal and a banana per day and feel fine. I am 196cm(6'4") tall and my weight is 56kg(123 libs).

The time for a change has come. I was really excited when you announced the FULL BODY EVOLUTION program and i've been waiting for it. But also i am in doubt, since i don't have stable money income to buy all the food needed, nutrition complements, gym and also for the Plat membership i wanted to ask you for advice. Should i focus on my food plan first and after gaining 15-20 kg(≈40 lbs) to start with your new workout plan ?

Thanks for reading.

@DavidGITS Hey man!

I would definitely focus on getting your eating right first. I don't think you need to wait until you have gained 15 - 20kgs before you start training, but you do need to make sure you have a good @mealplan before you start training, otherwise you won't be making the most of your time in the gym. You will see gains no matter what when you start, but to make them as good as they can be, you need to be eating enough.

Generally you can get some good bulking foods fairly cheap, it just means you might have to eat a lot of the same foods. For example rice is usually fairly cheap and a good source of carbs, oats and potatoes too.

I'm not sure what the price of chicken is like where you are? But it can be reasonably cheap in bulk sometimes. Fats can sometimes get a little pricey when you buy nuts and seeds, but maybe you could find some cheap-ish nuts and peanut butter and extra virgin olive oil to cook your food in.

Those are just some basic ideas, you can check out this full list too and see what might fit your budget! https://muscularstrength.com/article/healthy-shopping-list-for-life

So if you can get the @mealplan on point, then you can start Full Body Evolution ASAP!

Thanks for the reply, the motivation is the hardest part in my life. I get none, but i really want to try this time, i am thinking to set alarams on my phone every 3 hours to remind me of eating something, that would be a good start i guess.

@DavidGITS Yeah man if you have to, set those alarms because sometimes you need a reminder to actually eat. If you're focused on something else like work it's really easy to skip a meal. The alarms will help to keep you on track!

Hi again, i am abit surprised. I started eating alot more than before, and i didn't use the alarms method, but i actually got rid of bad habbits. I gained 2kg the past weeks and i do some basic exercices with abit of weight. I've also been trying to do diamond push-up (for now i can do only 5 of them on knees), but the thing is that when i try to do normal push-up i feel numbness on the left side of my back, just between the shoulder blade and the spine. I don't know if that can be some pressure on the nervs, do you think i should go for a check up ? (Note: i always do full body warm-up before exercise)

@DavidGITS Gaining 2kg is great man! And it's good you were able to actually start eating more without the need for alarms!

That numbness you're feeling sounds like it could be to do with your nerves. Is it at a specific point when doing push-ups (e.g. the eccentric or concentric) or is it just constant?

What kind of shoulder warm-up are you doing with your full body warm-up?

I start to feel it after the workout, even during the lifting of a cup (or any small object) the numb feeling starts. Few hours after finishing my workout, the numbness is gone.

The warm-up i use is a mix of "before running and before training" warm-up, i compiled it myself from the internet.

@DavidGITS OK. Try doing more dynamic (moving) stretches for your shoulders before your workout. Such as all of the warm-up exercises in the video below. Looks like there are a few static stretches in that exercise list you posted and static stretches are better for AFTER your workout rather than before.

The numbness still seems odd though. See if these warm-ups make a difference. Also try foam rolling your upper back and lats after your workout and see if that makes a difference.

If you still feel numbness you might need to see a massage therapist for a better look at what's going on.

So i went to buy the resistance band first and they had like 4 diferent kind of resistance i guess, i bought this one which is 5KG of force

Then i tried to do the exercices on your video and i have to admit that it seems like i never engaged that part of my body in a workout, cuz it felt like i am actually doing exercices with the band. It does feel abit better now but sometimes the numbness appears randomly again, for example the weight of the groceries bag which i was carrying with my left hand back home. I will go for a check-up just incase and i will keep doing the warm-up exercices you shown me, thanks.

@DavidGITS Glad the shoulder warm-ups helped a little bit! But yeah if you are continuing to get numbness then it's probably a good idea to get things checked out. Could be something pinched somewhere which is causing that numbness. Hopefully a physical therapist will find and fix the issue!
