Hi scott!

I have no ankle and hamstrings flexibility and I can't perform squat with good form. Unless I don't go deep at all but I heard it's bad for knees if you stop at paralel. I really want to squat but I'm afraid of getting injured due to lack of mobility

I just train to look good and not for sports.

Can I avoid doing squats or it's really a must to get good looking legs?

What do you think about doing this 2x a week?

Bulgarian Split squat 3x6-10
RDL 3x8-10
Lunges 3x8-12
LOeg curl 3x8-12

@SandPleasant You don't HAVE to do squats. But I'd highly recommend it. You should post in my platinum+ @forums with a video of your squat form so I can check it out. It might not be as bad as you think and I could give you some pointers from there!

What you have there is OK. But do you have access to a gym? If you're not going to squat, I'd throw a leg press in there at least.

Also, if your hamstring flexibility isn't good, how come you can do RDLs but not squats?

I have access to a gym so I can do leg press. I was doing leg press few days ago, but I started having lower back pain since I started doing 2 legs a weeks and I was not sure if it was because of my squat form or leg press form. So took the 2 exercices out for the moment.

For the RDL, I started doing it to improve my hamstrings mobility aswell. Should I avoid doing rdl?

Thx again! Will try to post video later this week!

@SandPleasant Yeah sounds like it could be a form issue on one of them or both of them (squat and / or leg press).

You should keep doing the RDL! But I'm just saying, if you can do RDLs, you should be able to squat. Even if you can only squat to parallel at the moment, that's better than nothing and you can continue to work on your mobility while still squatting!
