Hey Scott, my four days to go to the gym are Tues, Wed, Fri, and Sat.  Can I do a push and a pull on consecutive days (Tues and Wed), then the legs on Fri and one of the circuits on Sat?  I feel like I already get enough cardio, so missing one of the circuit days probably isn't that big a deal.

@FrankieG Hey man! Replied to the comment you left on the PPL program the other day! Hope that helps!

What you have planned will work, but if you're doing the full program you'll ideally need six days to train!

@Bluesboy1181 Hey Brice! Do you mean you don't have an incline bench? You don't need a preacher curl to do a spider curl. If you have an incline bench (or a flat bench that you can raise a little) then you should be able to do a spider curl!

I replied to your comment on one of my leg routines about what you can switch out for leg press!

To be fair I started light because I have bad knees. So it’s more about I guess confidence of getting back to heavier Weight

Hey there Scott, started your fantastic PPL program 5 weeks ago - jumped in at Month B as I have done some strength traing in the past.  Have been progressively overloading and am seeing some really great results!  I've purposefully been in a deficit of 500 calories to lose body fat (priority) since beginning and I'm wondering what the next step is?  I'm gaining some muscle and strength for sure, but fully aware that I'm not gaining as much as someone training in a surplus.  My plan is to cut until I reach 10% BF and then do a lean bulk.  My question is - do I move on to Month C now?  Or save that intensity for when I am ready to train in a surplus?  In terms of the 3 workouts, where should I begin training once I reach my desired BF level and am ready to start lean bulk? Thanks dude - Dan

@danparsons Hey Dan! Glad you've been crushing the PPL program for a few weeks!

You can definitely move onto the C workouts now, but those are more as alternatives to the A workouts. If you mean can you move straight to MONTH 3 now, then yes you can! You will still be able to go back and use that when you get yourself back into a surplus.

Once you reach about 10% body fat, then honestly I think it would be a great idea to go onto my 5 Day Bodybuilding split given that you have some experience already with training. I would move to that program for the start of your surplus then maybe come back to this PPL split if you plateau!

@jfSR hey Juan! I personally don't really enjoy working out in the morning. I tried it a few ears ago before I moved but it just wasn't for me,

But when I was trying those early sessions, I was usually just having maybe a protein bar and a banana or apple along with some pre-workout.

I would try something like that to start with, something small. If you feel like that's not enough, maybe make some overnight oats or a smoothie the night before that you can have ready to go before you train in the morning!

Do you recommend eating immediately before working out?

@jfSR Depends what you're eating. A protein bar and a banana would digest reasonably quickly (although even the protein bar would take a little bit), so if you were having something like that, you could pretty much go straight to working out within like 20 - 30 minutes.

But if you're going to have a full meal, I would give it 30 minutes minimum and even up to 60 minutes just to let the food digest. Nothing worse than training with a bloated stomach while your body is still trying to digest food and lift heavy lol!
