Seeing as creatine's main "thing" is to make you stronger in the gym and seeing as when you re cutting you want to maintain as much strength as possible to avoid muscle loss, taking creatine is a must.

If you are doing some insane dieting with less than 50 grams of carbs, taking creatine will probably be wasteful, but other than that, no reason not to take it :)

but the water holding capabilities makes it difficult to look that defined all the time isn't it. No doubt on the strength part though.

I think water retention is intra cellulor not extra cellulor so it has nothing to do with shape of your muscle while cutting it just will keep your intensity in gym the same while cutting carbs and make your muscle looks full and hydrated

Most people complaining of "Water weight" while on creatine are usually just gaining exces fat.

I have been taking creatine for years and I never have an issue when I want to lean out. I just adjust my calories / carbs.

The correct "broscience" answer is Creatine causes INTRA-cellular water retention which means it will not affect your leaness goals. If anything, creatine will make your muscles look fuller and harder when you lean out :-) Carbs, however, increase EXTRA-cellular water which is why bodybuilders carbo-load 2 days prior to a contest after months of carb restriction. This brings lots of water to the surface which increases vascularity and hardness under the skin and is also why you can look "smooth" if you haven't lost enough body fat.

I'm doing a mincut right now and I'm on creatine. I've lost 4lbs so far so I guess it doesn't really make cutting more difficult.

Less than 50g of carbs is never going to be sustainable.

You should eat a low carb diet, but whatever carbs you are getting should still be enough to provide the energy you need. Plus, what you aren't getting in carbs, should be made up for with fat, and fat is also used for fuel.

Are you doing any HIIT cardio during the week? 2-3 times for 15-20 minutes could help burn a bit more fat.
