I was looking online to know what the recommended rep per week was and I came upon this.

---------------------------------

60-120 for big muscle per week

30-60 for small muscle per week

Chest 60-120

Back 60-120

Quad 60-120

Hamstring 60-120

shoulders 30-60

bicep 30 - 60

tricep 30-60

calves 30-60

abs 30-60

------------------

Is this true or is it too minimalist?

Thank you for answers.

@DctMuscle That's about right for the most part, especially as a beginner. As you get more advanced you might push some of the reps out a little more.

The only ones I might change would be calves and abs - they can generally handle a lot more volume than that, even though they're smaller muscle groups.

Have you looked into trying any of the programs here on the site? Then you won't have to do any guess work!
