Hey so i started scotts PPL like 3 months ago and see amazing results, though recently i tried doing dead lifts and i felt so uncomfortable and actually felt like a sharp pain in my lower left part of my back. I contiuned though and finished, but decdied to stop working out for the week to recover. My lower back was hurting for a couple of days but it went away.. a week later i go back to the gym and im doing back again and dealift with lighter weight again i feel this pain and i stop and it hurts a lot. I have stopped doing deadlift since then, but i still feel this pain, it comes and goes. It happens when i sit down mostly, and when i sit down and say lift my legs up slightly infront of me my tail bone, and lower back hurt so much like im getting shocked, and it hurts when i stand up too. It goes away and comes back. I have tried to fix my posture and all of that but that is not helping. any advice??? i feel like its stopping me from going harder in the gym.

i do not have any spine issues whatsoever.

Hey @Chrisalta94.

Probably sounds like a good idea to skip the deadlifts, at least for now until you get this lower back problem sorted. It could have been a form issue that has caused some damage.

What kind of work have you been doing to fix your posture? Have you been using tips from my APT video? If you have APT, that can cause back pain depending on how bad it is.

Also, do you do any lower back mobility daily? I wouldn't necessarilly recommend foam rolling the lower back, because in some cases that can make things worse, not better. However, you can and should be stretching it daily with some dynamic stretches at some point during the day, and probably some static stretches at the end of your workout.

By the way, I deleted your other post in a different @forum thread because it was the same as this post 😊
