Said I would be back!

I'm getting older and have a cranky shoulder, it's doing well but I'm wanting to make sure I don't get injured.

Years ago I was a milk man and my day consisted of thousands of upright rows a week stacking milk crates.

When I got back to lifting I really aggravated it and was barely able to lift my arm. I have rehabbed it back to decent health and am slowly increasing my bench and shoulder work. Mostly dumbell work right now.

So when I go back to bahbell bench what can I do to protect the joint?

Coach scott has gotta have some pointers I hope.

Thanks guys!

Hey Mike.

First off, make sure you are always warming up your shoulders before you lift, and that goes for everyday. If you are doing shoulder mobility everyday, that will help it stay mobile and healthy in the long-run.

Also, make sure you are always packing and retracting your shoulder blades on the bench press, and don't flare your elbows out too much. If you can do that, that will help to minimize any risk of a shoulder injury 💪

Thanks coach! I definitely needed the warm up advice. Today was chest day and i added 10 pounds to each dumbbell. All went well and no shoulder tweaks at all.

Rock on man!
