Hey guys! I want to get some more mass, and made this workout routine! Keep in mind that I am new to bot this forum as kindof new to bodybuilding, so ANY help and critique is apprecieted heavily, since I don't know how good this workout is. Now here it is:

So this is the workout (dag means day, and oefening means exercise, I'm Dutch). Give me any help on what exercises, what rep range, set range or anything else. If anything in my routine seems weird, don't be afraid to tell me!

Hope some of you guys will help this newbie who wants to get in shape for next summer!

PS: Yes I do abs, I do them on 2 of the 4 days, on whichever i have more time that week, also it's a 4-day split without rest in between, just 4 days straight, this cannot be changed since those are the days I'm able to make time for fitness.

PSS: Other sites like bodybuilding.com just told me: just take someone elses workout your just a beginner, but I put a lot of work into researching this, mostly just taking exercises from Scott Herman's youtube channel, pairing them with exercises I already do, so please just give tips, not 'take a beginner workout' because I already workout for a year and want to get somewhere with personalized stuff!

Can I tag @Scott_Herman or doesn't that work on this site?

Hey @sll70!!

Yes you can tag me, and you did it just right :)

Looking at your routine, I must say man it is pretty good! You have all of your compound movements in there, and you have a good amount of volume. It doesn't look like anything is missing really. You could add a shrug or upright row in just for a little bit of direct trap work, if you wanted to.

For muscle gain, your sets and reps are just right as well, so good job!

Let us know how it goes, and maybe once you have tried this for a while you'll be ready for my next 12 week challenge! :D

wow I thought I would get bashed completely :0 thanks Scott for the advice! the folks over at bodybuilding.com flipped me off, said I should only used premade beginnerprograms. and should i incorporate more of non-arms stuff, i prioritized my bi's and tri's too much( they said). is this true? also my dream is to one day have YOUR body :D i think it's amazing how far you've come as a natty! @Scott_Herman i dont know if you get notification, but i guess this way you do :) PS: thanks for all the great youtube videos you truly are amazing in teaching and explaining mostly WHY not just flexing a muscle and saying thats why

also ill be sure to participate in the next 12 week or at least try, and another question: is it ok (since i'm getting dumbells and a bench for christmas) to do a second chest workout (smaller) right in between 2 chest workouts, because i really want that chest. or will that over-do my chest. also i have a pull-up bar, should i do some daily and maybe some push-ups or should i train only in the gym as my routine says, to give the muscles rest? thanks Scott!

Well as a beginner, your arms will get plenty of stimulation just from training your back and chest and even shoulders. But having specific arm work in there is perfectly fine too, better to start growing them early right?!

I wouldn't add any more chest workouts in-between. Even though frequency is a good tool to use, you still don't want to overdo it, because your muscles do need time to recover. I actually made videos about this topic.
