For the past week my gym instructor advised me to not use gloves cuz i asked him, that i wanted to improve on my grip strength ... Since i cant get the iron bull t grips over here without someone travelling to the states i agreed to his condition ... But the problem is ... My skin right before my fingers start peeling off [ it dosnt hurt] but it feels kinda rough ... I just wanted to kno if its ok to continue working out without gloves .. Thanks

your body has created callluses to protect your skin on your hands from the nurling on the bars,

since your wearing gloves the calluses arent needed anymore and the sweat on you hands soften this skin

when you wear gloves.

the skin comes loose from the rubbing and pressure under the glove.

its completely normal.

but if it start to get to a point where it eats into living skin , see a doctor, although i strongly doubt that will ever happpen,

its just your body adjusting, had the same thing when i switched to gloves

So shouldnt be any issue

Anthony thanx for the great site Scott.

I do not use gloves at the moment and I would strongly advice you to do so aswell. However if you are going to lift something really heavy or do muscle ups use either chalk or gloves.

Using gloves will definitely help you to increase your grip strength or to lift heavy weights. But in some point, relying on gloves will cause weakness in wrist area. Only use them if you need them. I only use gloves if I'm going to attempt to add volume/ lift heavy.

Scott Herman told me that " Relying on it will cause you weakness in time." So I think his point is " It's better to do it in the NATURAL way. "

Hey

Mike and William are right man, only use gloves and straps occasionally when you feel like you need them. Don't rely heavy on them. Try out chalk as well suggested by William.

In terms on Iron Bull T Grips, there are alternatives out there. Try seeing if you can get Fat Gripz in your area. Same idea and principles for muscle activation.

All the best man

Great advice here guys! I used to use gloves when i was in high scool but i learned pretty quick that the ol natural way is the best way to go. If you don't like having cacalluses then just use lotion more often to soften up your hands.
