Hello, I'm new to this site, Tho I have been watching Scott's videos for quite a while, As the title suggests I have problems with my super bulky legs, Be it running or just walking up the stairs, my legs are making me very slow, Currently they are 26 inches, And no, I'm not on roids, It's just genetics, Up to you whenever you believe me or not, Now for my question, Can i train legs without putting on muscle mass?, Can i still Deadlift and Squat regularly?, I know that by not training lower body I'm also missing on some upper body gains, So if anyone has an answer I will gladly hear it, Thanks for reading.

Hell BuffMetalHead,

I can relate to what you're saying brother, I have experienced the exact same thing. Now if you naturally have 26 inch legs then I would say that your legs will absolutely get bigger with squats and deadlifts. I don't think there's a way around this to be honest. The most you can do is use the lowest volume possible, or considering using variations that don't add as much muscle. Super low volume pistol squats might be a good option for you, and for deadlifts maybe doing snatch grip rack pulls at the knee cap can be beneficial since you will emphasize the upper back more. Best thing you can do is be as lazy as possible, focus on strength, and use the lowest volume you can think of. Hope this helps!

I think Alex is right. You can still train them, it's just if you literally don't want them to grow, you'll just basically be going through the motions. Low volume, and not aiming for near failure really, because you probably aren't aiming for muscle breakdown and re-growth.

Probably stay in a rep range of 1-6 and not many sets. But you can go higher on the reps, around 10-12, but again, not using weight where you're starting to fail and breakdown muscle IF you don't want to gain size.
