I am 165lbs, 5'11, 28 years old. My goal is to add muscle and lose what fat I have around my love handles and chest. I guess I would consider myself skinny fat. Here is my meal plan below. Its not 100% finished I still have to add a couple things like peanut butter to my shakes, spinach, etc. I forgot PB at the store and I really rather add custom foods to my meal plan as I feel a lot of the numbers in some of the pre added foods are a littel inflated.

Hey @faist89, the link doesn't work? I get a 404 error.

Maybe just post a screen shot of your @mealplan?

Odd it was working when I did posted.

gyazo is just a dekstop screencap progam so don't worry about the link. Super handy tool!

OK great. All of the food choices look good.. are you sure that's not too many carbs? Almost 400g? I would cut back some carbs to more like 300g-350g and then bump the fats up a bit more.

That's if you think going a bit lower on carb might help you control fat gain a bit better.. if you think you won't start to gain too much fat on a higher carb diet, then you can keep it. Just listen to your body.

And 3000 calories has you in a 250-500 calorie surplus?

I am indeed looking to cut down on carbs. I was going off what the Mealplan calculator was saying but I did think it was high in carbs.

Maybe Im not fully understanding the numbers. Ill go back and watch your video.

But my numbers(from the calculator) are:

BMR at Rest:1805

BMR in Motion: 2798

Yeah keep in mind the @mealplan calculator is a starting point which you can adjust to your own goals. It tends to start on the higher end of carbs, but that doesn't mean you can't reduce them 😊

If those are your BMR numbers, then it looks like you are in a 200 calorie surplus, which is exactly what you want (200-300 calorie surplus) for lean gains.

So don't be afraid to change up the carbs, and even reduce them down to even 200g-300g if you don't want them to be too high.

Oh God great. I was waiting for you to tell me to get another 1000 calories in haha.

Ill play around with the carbs. I mean its only been a month of training this hard but my legs, arms, chest, back, and shoulders are all coming in great...but then the love handles persist XD.

Also I wasn't doing many circuits the first month. I was super sore especially after legs. Those burpees and jump squats were brutal! Loving it all though. I feel great.

I'm a pretty picky eater and of course those good foods like avocado and greek yogurt, I can not stand but Ill see what I can do about boosting my fats.

Other good options for fats are nuts, peanut butter, eggs and oily fish like tuna, salmon etc.

Doing the circuits will help you with fat loss so it's important to do them if you can 😊 Even if you have to substitute some exercises, that's still OK. Or if you can't do the circuits, try doing some kind of cardio.

Keep up the good work @faist89!

Thanks! I knocked out circuit D this morning. Kicked my butt a little. Over the past few days Ive been noticing some of the changes Ive been waiting for. My chest is tightening up for sure. I can defintely tell a fat loss there. Very motivational to be able to look in the mirror and see improvement week after week especially for myself having always been on the skinnier side. Even when I was in the Army I was rail thin. Always held my own but my diet was terrible even then. Very grateful for the awesome programs you have created for all of us!
