After three weeks of not being able to train, I know leg day is going to be a day that I will soon regret. So, to spice things up I decided to take it easy, lighten the load, focus on controlled reps and work on some advanced calisthenics movements between my leg exercises.

 

At this point in my life I am starting to wonder what is the point of building all this muscle and strength if I can’t even properly control my own bodyweight? Goku would not be pleased… Anyone else experimenting with some of the movements I am doing in this video? I want that front lever on the rings so bad! Then, I want to accomplish the ring planche! That would be KILLER! #HTH #SHFAthlete

Sounds like the realizations and goals of someone on the brink of being 30 years old :-)

Oh yeah! Doing the calisthenics again, and this time with the front lever move, awesome man! So you want to learn planche in rings, you mean this planche?:

That's real though, better start training right away! This is a great move for me to make a next video!(i'll start without the rings, thats way to hard lol:P)

Oh and Scott, if you perform the human flag, you should try how to switch your grip of your top hand, I find it way easier with my thumb facing down. It might help!

Scott, This is awesome. I have been trying to get more functional with my lifting and have been doing alot of body weight stuff. I have been doing alot of research and watching some videos. All of my body builder friends tell me bodyweight lifts are pointless and i will never build any muscle with them and they wont do anything for me. Obviously they are stuck in the broscience age lol. I am going to continue aith my bodyweight training but after watching this video, I am going to start working it into my normal everyday lifts rather than putting aside a seperate day. Thanks for the video scott!

yeah man. most bodybuilders are afraid of this stuff it seems. Oh well.. you and I will become much stronger with more dense muscle tissue! Our gains!!!

Scott,

 

Quick diet realted question. Used to work out frequently and then took a little time off (5 years) getting back into it again now. I'm 5'9'' and started at 207lbs and i'm down to approx 193lbs in 7 weeks. I'm suing Lose it app to track my calories and my current macros are 200g protein 80carb and 60 fat for toal of 1,660 calories. My workout consists of full body circuits, HITT trainnig, and some bro splits depedning on the week and how my body is responding. Question is do you think i should keep my calories that low, i do want to go down to approx 185 hold taht weight for a while then go down to about 175 and then up calories to go for more lean gains, but didn't know if that was proper plan of attack. Apprecaite any help and really enjoy all the content. HTH.

That's insane! She has to be a beast in the gym! I'm guessing she probably does a lot of martial arts though and mostly focuses on full body weight exercises.

2 year #SHF athlete I love to train hard and help others when they want it.
