Lifting is a lot more complex than just “Lift things up and put them down”. Aside from proper form, breathing techniques also come into play especially when you begin to lift extremely heavy weight. In this video I am going to show you how to maximize control over your core which will allow you to lift more weight on any exercise if done properly. It will take some time for you to figure out the precise amount of air to take in to maximize core engagement on various lifts, but just like anything else, practice makes perfect. I will also show you how to utilize this technique when using a weight belt. Unfortunately a lot people I see in the gym have no clue how to utilize a weight belt to maximize their lifts and in most cases will do more damage to their body because they think the belt is “working” when it is not doing anything at all. If you have any more questions, please feel free to join us in the forums on SHF! #HTH #SHFAthlete

Excellent tip. So true. I also agree that unless you are a power lifter you should use your internal "belt" rather than a physical belt as this will build your core. I haven't used a belt in 20 years and my core is much stronger now :-)

Exactly. So many people just go right to the belt and that is not good. What are they going to do if they have no belt? Not lift? Right?

Awesome. I'm a beginner, so breathing is something I still need to figure out. I'll start using this method, thanks for all great movies so far. Big fan!

Thanks dude! Exactly what caused my Exertion Headaches - Held the breath, but held the tension in my head rather than abs as I went heavy on rep 9. Gotta hold it in the right place ! Something for me to work on when I'm back !!

Peanut butter. An A$$load of peanut butter. hahaha, but seriously, natural nut butters are a great way to increase your total caloric consuption in a healthy, tasty way. Oh and eat something calorie dense right before bed. I found that this really helped me to gain weight in a healthy way

Unfortunatly I lack the knowledge to know about what to eat. I eat 1 egg and 1 apple a day, true mass and whey shakes, and besides that my normal food like breakfast, dinner and supper. I eat every 2-3 hours at least something to keep it flowing, either a healthy cookie or a shake.
