Hey Folks,
in doing the PPL I’m wanting to add additional bicep work on pull day and tricep work on push day.
Any recommendations for what exercises to use and where to add them to complement the overall structure of the routine?
thanks all,
mike

@Mcabot well, you will see good progress just by following the program.. if you're adding in extra exercises, I'm guessing it's because you view your arms as areas that need extra work? Just think about what area of the biceps and triceps you want to improve the most.
For example, is it the long head of the tricep (overhead movement), maybe the lateral head (pushdown movement), and for the biceps is it the inner/short head (wide-grip movement) or the outer/long head (close-grip movement)?
Once you know what you're aiming to improve.. then you can figure out what exercise to do 😊

I'm in the middle of month two of push pull legs and have seen major progress! I am a little frustrated because I haven't been to the gym for the past week. I go to college and biochemistry courses are taking over my life, so I haven't been able to find time to go. I do however commonly have 50 min breaks between classes that I have been using for homework. Doing a ppl routine takes me an hour and a half on average, maybe and hour 15 on certain days. Is there a good way to split the routine up so that I can do it in two separate 50 min time frames without reducing the effectiveness of the workout too much?

@gingerbear start supersetting your exercises to save time, or if you want to hit two 50 minute sessions, just split up the body parts you're working. So for the push day, you might do chest and one tricep movement in the first 50 minutes, then shoulders and the other tricep movement in the other session, and you can even throw in one ab exercise per session as well.
What do you think of that? Each session might only take about 40 minutes but that would give you time to get to the gym and get ready etc.

I will attempt to superset first to see if I can cut the time down. If it still takes too long, then I'll split it into two groups, thanks for the input!

The supersets should help a lot. It cuts out probably 4-5 minutes per two exercises, so you can probably shave at least 10-15 minutes off your total workout time easy!
Happy to help!
