I personally don't believe there is one specific supplement that will help you gain weight. The key to the successful addition of lean mass in my opinion is down to these factors:

  • Calories/macronutrient intake
  • Supplementation
  • Digestive Health
  • Consistency
  • Training Routine

All of the above factors will complement one another. If you want to be 100% optimal when putting on lean mass you must be 100% in each of these areas. There is no point in spending $100's on supplements if your diet is only 70% optimal. A lot of people also fail with their digestive health. If your body can't successfully digest the food and utilise the macros/micros from it then what's the point in adding more calories?

I will explain why. Some people just dont feel confortable with his body when you see only see bones and skin the only thing you wish for is a bit of size and i speak of my self i didnt really care if i was getting lean mass and i was shredded i just want size fat and muscle together and eating was a problem for me i couldnt eat large amounts of food so i looked up for some wight gainers that can fill my needs.

When you begin like this you dont really care about couting macros u just want to get that amount of food eat what ever you can , your sistem doesnt work with numbers and to be honest thats boring it must be fun i dont judge people that controll all the macros every single time looking at their phones to check protein carbs fat levels of certain foods i mean for me that just doesnt work.

Yeah I understand the fundamentals of wanting size hence why I bodybuild but surely you want to optimal in your approach to getting bigger? After all yeah I could get you looking massive in weeks but I guarantee if its not calculated you will just look fat and nobody wants that. I really don't think weight gainers are necessary products. You can easily add more calories in using home made shakes consisting of full fat milk, cream, various oils (coconut, oilve), various seeds (flaxseeds, chia seeds) etc.

Another point when you begin why would you not want to be optimal and track your food? Your body responds the best to specific macronutrient ratios and numbers because they are calculated to your needs. I 100% advocate beginners to track food so they ensure they are getting the required amount. I track my food every day without fail and it makes a huge difference to my physique and actually helps me to keep consistent with my nutrition.

Perhaps you can say that tracking food is boring, but its this sort of approach that will get you to where you want to be.

I agree with daniel, weight ganers arent necessary at all, nutritious tasty foods is always better than the weight gainers, they will surely help you put on some weight and you will feel like you have gained muscle but in real you will just get fat, maybe get double chin and get a bit of stomach and well you will stop taking it you will surely notice some fall in your weight, its just a waste of money instead you can save up and buy other supplements (like protein and creatine) later on after 1 or 2 years of proper workout

Like daniel said you can easily get more calories from shakes, milk, chia seeds and also from peanut butter, you can make a peanut butter smoothie or make peanut butter sandwhiches (with 100% whole wheat bread) and eating biscuits like oreos, etc with your shakes and milk, eating nuts in between meals, boiled potato with yogurt and sugar, coconut water, oats, rice, soyabean, red meat (optional), boiled corn, cornflakes, etc

Surely meals like these will be able to gain weight easily and in a healthy way which is way better than and maybe cheaper than those so called weight gainers, so like daniel i'll advise you to save up the money for better products and spend money on food and keep a track of your calorie intake.

Yeh i understand your point , what im telling you is like i have my base diet plan right with all the macros etc etc , but if im going out and i eat on another place im not going to analyze all the macros just to make shure i hit that number , ofcourse you need to have a structured meal plan for dayli basis but i mean u dont need to follow everything every single day

ex: i only have 70g of brown rice but i eat 100 i need to analyze the best option to mix with.. I mean i would trow something there to make the 100g like pasta anything to be honest i will not calculate the macros

If you ve got the money, and you have found a mass gainer that has a healthy nutrient profile, there is no reason not to buy it. I really believe that if money is the issue, you can create your own mass gainer. You can make a shake that is 1000 calories. 2 of those a day, will get you to 2000. Plus another 2000 from your normal foods, is 4000 calories. If you cant gain weight ( either fat or muscle) with 4.000 calories, means somethings wrong and you need to be checked out for metabolic issues. But as I said, if you have a ton of money, a mass gainer is a good idea because its convienient. No need to prepare or clean anything. And it tastes amazing. BSN's True Mass 1200 is excellent although I m sure there are several similar products.
