Liquid Chalk?

Can't use chalk in my gym. Is liquid chalk a viable option?

Any opinons on liquid chalk and particular brands to aim for?

I can't use chalk in my gym (they just don't want to clean it up), and I've been using rubber grips on the Nautilus deadlift/shrug machine to compensate, but after lifting 350 today I noticed even the rubber is starting to slip. I'd rather be on the bar anyhow and wondering how well liquid chalk actually works and how much residue it will leave behind.

Haven't used it before but I hear it's not too bad. As long as you don't use too much I don't think it should leave any residue behind - just make sure you rub it evenly into your hands too.

Quick update to this. I grabbed the 50mL bottle to test out of some Liquid Fit Grip, and it made a BIG difference in holding the bar. Before, anything over 350 would just slip out of grip with just a little sweat. With the liquid chalk I was able to do rack pulls from just above the knee at 405lbs without worrying about the grip and the AMRAP deadlifts after with 205 felt like my hands were glued to the bar.

Downside, I keep my wedding ring on when I'm at the gym, and it has a celtic knot pattern that the chalk loves to fill up, but comes off easily with warm water and hand soap. It doesn't leave much residue, but it won't go more than 2 exercise circuits without needing to be reapplied, so it will be more costly than actual chalk, but it is totally worth it for use in my gym that doesn't allow chalk.

Yeah I would say the main benefit of it is using it in gyms that don't allow chalk - maybe not the best but at least it's something you're allowed to use.. gyms should just allow chalk though really lol.
