Something is up with the site, can't create a sub-thread.

Age:  OMG, I’m gonna be 40 in a couple of weeks.

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 215-220lbs

Body fat: 16-18%

Goal: Strength gain, and a little bit of ascetics

How long have you been training:  Around 25 years with quite a few gaps due to injury/illness

Macros: P200+, C400-500, F130-150 (3500-4000cals); I'm extremely active, it's a serious challenge to just get enough going in.

Hey Alex,

I’ve been following you for a while on YouTube, and we’ve had a few interactions.  Though most were when I was posting anon. Anyway, I’m having a surgery at the beginning of July, and will be out of the gym for a few weeks to recover, and I was planning on reprogramming while I was recovering.  Last August I tore a labrum pretty severely, and didn’t get back into the gym till the end of January.  Since then I’ve been running PPL to get my body back in shape, but I think I’ve pretty much run that as far as I can.  So I need to change some things up, and get some new stimuli to shock my system.  I have quite a bit of admiration for you, you’re freakishly strong for your size.  And, you look pretty good since the cut.  Obviously your system works.  So, am I at the point where your system would work for me…also considering my limitations?

All the following weights are what I've done for reps this week (3x12).  Squats 395lbs, deadlift 355/385lbs (conventional 2”deficit/sumo), OHP 135lb, Dumbbell bench (no more barbell after the labrum tear) 95/90lbs (flat/incline), dips with 55lbs.  No pull-ups because my elbows are jacked, but I do a few different pull-downs at or above body weight to compensate.  I’ve been taking it easy on deadlift due to my fused vertebrae in my back, and arthritis in my hips.  I think I’ve built my strength up enough to where I can start going heavy again.  In that past I’ve got up to 585lbs on deadlift with no problems.  I’m well over 600lbs on rack pulls if that’s any help.  Thanks for your feedback, and keep doing what you’re doing.  Loved seeing you shut some of that haters up with your bench press PR.

Hey man. What do you mean you can't create a sub-thread? This IS a sub-thread lol. Because it's a post on it's own in a particular category @forum.

Anyway, hopefully Alex can help you out with working through his program! Good luck!

Hey Voelkern,

How can I be of help brother? I'm looking at your numbers and they're actually quite good. If you did 3x12 for all those exercises these are solid numbers for sure. What exactly is your objective, are you asking if my system would work for you? I'm pretty sure it would seeing as it's only 2x a week full body which is excellent for recovery and injury prevention. It's highly unlikely that you will develop overuse injuries while following NE given the management of volume/intensity + exercise rotation. I'd also recommend getting a high quality belt 10-13mm and investing in elbow sleeves. At your current stage I think you can put on a lot of strength and size without problems, you just need to find the exercises that do not cause any discomfort.

Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions do not be shy to ask!
