Why are women so afraid of lifting weights is a very popular question that can be easily answered. Women think that by lifting weights they will wind up looking like Mr. Olympia and that in fact is not true. It takes guys who train to death years and years to look like that. What really happens to women when they lift weights is they burn more fat, become sexy and toned, and have over all more confidence at what ever else they do in their daily lives. One thing that a lot of women don't know is that building muscle actually burns fat and speeds up the metabolism thus making your body a fat burning machine. I'm not saying a woman should be lifting exteme amounts of weight, but a woman on a regular fitness regimen is going to look and feel better than ever before. Regular exercise and a healthful diet also increases the life span and slows the aging process. So for all you lady Hermanites out there, dont be afraid to lift. All you need is just 3-4 days a week of weight training, and the other 2-3 days you can devote to cardio, time with the family, or what ever else it is that you enjoy.
